Don’t fool yourself

Whenever I left London to visit my family, I got into this habit of sneaking outside after everyone had gone to sleep. I’d sit out in the backgarden, sometimes with a cigarette, and stare up at the sky.

When you live in London you don’t really see any stars because of all the light pollution – so whenever I went home I made sure I undertook my secret stargazing ritual every night. There’s something about stargazing that gives you a sense of perspective – you realise how small we are; on this planet, in this universe and within these moments of time. It would remind me to chill out and just enjoy the small amount of time I’ve been given here.

This track (aptly named Constellation) by Journeyman (who are also from London), reminds me of that same sense of smallness. It’s quite a freeing feeling.
